help with installing geforce fx5900

i just recieved my new xfx 5900 128 meg card on tuesday and cant get it working properly. i have tried everything i can think of, i followed the install instructions that shipped with my card. i can get the post screens and enter bios but it hangs right before the login screen at windows xp. i have tried my mobos site but cant find any help there,i emailed xfx site tuesday and still waiting for reply. i tried feeding power to card on seperate power connector with same results. i got frustrated wendsday night and reformatted only to arive at the same problem. any comments or suggestions would help. thx in advance----------------------my specs------------------------

Is there an option in the BIOS to disable onboard video?
You could try that. I will look up the specs on your mobo to see if there is anything obvious.
Check your manual if you need to disable onboard video via BIOS or physical jumper setting on the Mobo.

Ok, I found this from the manual in pdf form. Looks important.

Note: Please note that when an extra AGP card is
installed and the onboard AGP function in BIOS is
disabled, the system can support
DDR400/333/266; otherwise it only supports up to
DDR333.
