Help with installing aftermarket stereo Nissan Altima 2005

Hi guys so I'm trying to install a new after market stereo into my 2005 Nissan Altima and I thought everything was going ok but when I tested it, the radio turned on and sound came from all speakers with the radio on, but not with the aux input. The aux cable definitely works because i tested it in another car. I think a possible problem could be my splicing and wiring connections. That doesn't explain why it turns on and works, just not on the aux mode. I'm trying to understand what could cause this problem, so any help would be extremely appreciated.

More information is needed. On the surface there should be no issue with the "splicing" but obviously there is more to the story.

Are you using an existing aux port on the car or an aux port on the front of the head unit itself? Realize that an aux port has several wires to it and you could easily wire it wrong if you're trying to reuse a stock aux port.

If aux port is built into the head unit, then there is no way it could not work if the other input sources work unless the HU is broken.
