Help with imaging software

Hi,

I was hoping I could get some help for backing up a server as I feel I am at a dead end. What I want to do is just create an exact, restorable image of a server from bootable media onto a USB 2.0 drive. The only one program I've found that I can create bootable media, then copy a partition onto USB 2.0 drive is Acronis' TrueImage 6.0. However, this software would be good if it only supported Dell's PERC 3 Raid drivers as that is what the server's disk drives are running on. I can't do it from windows because if I had to restore I would have to use the bootable rescue media to restore to a disk that the drivers aren't loaded for.

So, I turn to you guys for help. Does anyone know of such software? I was just playing around with Norton Ghost, but it doesn't look like it supports USB drives and I havn't tried Drive Image yet, but I don't think it supports the USB drives either.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I would really appreciate them and I really need to get this server backed up ASAP.

So, the constraints:

USB 2.0 drive
Raid drivers
Exact drive image
Restorable

As usual, thanks in advance,

Eric

If all else fails, remove the HDD from the USB 2.0 case - connect it as a normal IDE drive - then clone it usuing any bootable software (Ghost, DriveImage, DriveCopy) and when it is done. Put it back in the USB case and you are good to go. Same with a Firewire case.
