<originally posted in tech-support... maybe better luck here...>

I use IE 6 on win xp pro -- and occasionally "view source" doesn't do anything.
Normally it shows me the source in notepad -- but sometimes it does _nothing_ -- nothing at all -- and I can't view the source.

I'll delete temp files, cookies, close/re-open IE -- and then it'll work again (but i don't really know that that has anything to do with it working again)

any ideas?

I've scanned with spybot s&d and housecall, just for the heck of it -- and nothing -- so I'm leaning toward an issue with IE or winxp-pro.
Logged in as restricted user... which should make no difference.

I'll hazard a guess that it's the same result as the bmp image save as bug (ie your cache is full). Check how much space is allocated for temporary files in internet options.

Your guess was right. Happens to me all the time. Full cache also makes the "open" button not work on downloads.

thanks for the suggestion

I'll pay more attention the next time it happens -- to be absolutely sure
