Help with identd issues in Mandrake 9

Ok, so I want to use xchat on dalnet but the servers keep complaining I have not identd. So I checked out xchat.org and followed the instructions to install the pidentd software that came with my Mandrake 9.0 install. The only problem is after installing the RPMs, my services menu shows identd running, but none of my IRC clients work with it. Every time I try to conenct to dalnet, I get a no identd kick.

Also, a firewall is not an issue here, I looked into that too. Any suggesstions on getting this sucker configured with identd correctly? Thanks

It may be easier to get rid of the included and use a proggie called oidentd. I run it with the -m parameter, and my linux box as well as all the Masqued boxes behind it can connect to IRC servers with no problems

here is a link for you
Oidentd

I figured it out..the problem is since my net connection is being fed through Windows XP..it turns out windows XP is not identd friendly. So what I did was download a nice little identd server to run in windows and handle any identd requests and boom...no more problems.
