I just bought PowerDVD 7.0 Deluxe for my new HTPC and LG 37" LCD. I play PC games and surf the web with no problems at 1360x768 and they look awesome.

But the video quality in PowerDVD look very grainy and staticy - I have tried disabling Hardware accel. and experimented with all the de-interlacing modes with no change in picture.

I tried my older sony DVD player and it looks considerably better through component cables :Q

Am I missing a setting with my 7800gt drivers (93.71) ? Or is it a PowerDVD problem?
Please help - Any input is appeciated!

I recommend you purchase Theatertek for your DVD viewing. This combined with FFDShow produces some outstanding results, near HD quality for DVD's. It does take a little while to learn to configure, but once you do you'll be blown away by the image quality. Nothing comes close on a PC.

Don't you have to rip your DVD to your hardrive in order to use Theatertek or FFDShow? If thats the case then its really not an option for me due to lack of hardrive space or patience to rip EVERY DVD I watch. If theres a way a around this please tell me - I am an HTPC noob!
