I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6135dx that has stopped working properly.
It refuses to turn on most of the time. When it does turn on, I have to boot Windows to safe mode, then restart and it works perfectly fine until it goes into any kind of power saving mode or is restarted again. It acts the same whether on battery power or plugged in.
When it doesn't work, sometimes I get nothing at all and other times it will power on for a second then shut down and the power and charger lights will blink, not stopping until all power is removed (then it takes anywhere from a couple hours to a couple days before it will power on again).
I did a bit of searching and concluded that it may be a faulty motherboard, so I replaced it.
I was wrong. It is still doing the exact same thing.
I've also tried all the tricks I could find (different power supply, resetting cmos battery, different RAM configs, no HDD, etc.) with no luck.
Could it be a faulty APU even though it works intermittently?
Any suggestions or advice is much appreciated.
