Help with HP d135 problem (printing)

Everytime I try to print any size picture with my d135 I get an error and it shuts down the printing software. I know this was a big seller awhile back because of the Staples deal so I'm hoping someone has had a similar experience.

I get an HPI_PR~1 error and the program closes. I've tried reinstalling the software and just got a new HDD and it still does it. What am I doing wrong?
 
my sister in law had a similar problem on an hp 2210, I uninstalled the printer and software and reinstalled the printer then software and it has worked ever since.
 
You have no idea how many times I've done this the past two days.

I cleaned the registry and am trying it one more time.
