I was running an ATi Xpert 128, but needed to get an AGP card due to an incompatibility with my ECS K7S5A motherboard. So I got a Hercules Kyro 3D Prophet 4000XT 64MB card. Seems to be ok. My wife has been playing Diablo II with no problems. Hoever, last night I tried to run Carmageddon II and it looked and ran like -- um -- doo-doo. The graphics had big blothcy white squares, and it was choppy and slow. So I exited and ran DXDIAG. The Direct3D test went nice, but when I ran the DirectDraw tests, it started to show the white rectangles, then froze, the monitor went black, then after about a minute, the machine rebooted. I downloaded the newest SiS AGP drivers and have the newest drivers for the Kyro card. Here's the Specs, if they're needed:
EliteGroup (ECS) K7S5A motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 1500+ (not overclocked)
384 MB PC-133 RAM
Hercules 3D Prophet 4000XT 64 MB Kyro AGP
Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer
USR 56K PCI Modem
Acer 20X10X40 CD-RW
10X DVD
Western Digital 20 GB 7200 RPM hard drive
CPU is running at about 36C.
Someone help me fix this, please!!
