Help with HDTV Tuners

I currently have DirecTV with an HD-DVR and a plain HD receiver. I would like to use my PC as an occasional DVR for the few times there are 3 things on at the same time that I'd like to watch since the set-top box can only handle 2. The things I record are usually network TV since cable programs are typically repeated overnight. Is it best to buy a TV-tuner that can receive over-the-air HD or is there a way to connect the plain HD receiver to the PC? With regards to the former, any recommendations?

I apologize if this has been covered already but I wasn't able it find any similar posts.
