Help with hardrive configuration

hello,
I just bought an 80gig WD and would like to use this (as master) alongside with my old 20gig ibm (as slave). Actually, i'm running it right now. My question is, would this affect the overall performance of the 80gig drive? I'm all for speed and performance...Extra space can come second. Would the new drive function faster if i set it all to itself with master or slave? thanks
 
No it doesnt make any difference to the new drive at all ... some ppl imagine that it does, but there's no earthly reason why it would, or could. Unless you're actually transferring stuff between them all the time...
