I'm trying to install a 20gig drivein my computer but it doesn't detect it upon boot up. The motherboard is a BE6-II. I was wondering if this means that I have to update the bios, but for some reason my other computer running a BH6 board will recognize the hard drive and run it without any problems. Thanks for your help in advance.

Check the jumper settings. It's simple, but I've overlooked them far too many times before.

I will presume you have the board from abit, which I have riht now, and yes, you need to update the bios... But you will also have access to higher cpu speeds and bus speeds too... Good luck

Yeah it's set to auto detect the drive. Is it easy to update the bios, because i've never had to do that before. I don't want to end up screwing something up.
