Help with Halo 2 accuracy

I tend to get lit up every time someone gets close, even if I start firing at the same time? Any suggestions or tips?

The closer to the head you aim, the more damage you will do. Someone with 1 smg shooting the head at a decent distance will kill someone faster then someone with 2 smgs at point blank in the mid body. It takes practice and parctice, and more practice.

Usually, whoever sees the opponent first and starts firings takes the kill. It is almost impossible to survive somebody shooting at you from behind. By the time you are done turning around, your shields are half gone etc.

Also, choice of weapons is extremely important. A shotgun at point blank range to the head is always deadly. If you see someone with a shotty, try to put some distance. You should, sooner or later, find a combination of guns that fits you the best. Try magnum with an SMG, gives you accuracy with one gun in the mid range and sheer number of bullets fired on the short range. Or try a plasma pistol along with an SMG; one will take out the shields, while the other will do the killing. If you can aim well and also time it, it works marvelously.

yea aim for the head /upper body

SMG+ plasma rifle >>>>>> 2x SMGs
2x plasma rifles is good but if you are 2 far away they will overheat before the other dude is dead
SMG + magnum is good also cause the pistol is powerfull as hell and easy to get head shots with
2x pistols is really effective if you have the fingers to pull it off fast enough
plasma sword pwns j00
shotgun is extreamly effective at medium to close range 2-3 shots at medium and they are gone, 1 in close
the rocket launcher mele attack destroys people
sniper rifle while slow in close is a 1-2 hit kill if you are good with it it can be VERY nice
plasma pistol + something automattic is good charge it up let it go, by by shield and let loose with the SMG or whatever
brute shot kinda sucks, its mele is good tho
carbine is very effective more so then the assault rifle
plasma beam is like teh sniper rifle, slow but effective up close

Oh, and does anyone else think the melee sound is so much meatier? It really sounds like a good skull-splitting "THWACK" now. 😀

o yea i forgot that woops

dual needlers is killer in single player mode, however on live you will usially get killed with them before you kill teh other person because all teh needles wont hit, needled plus SMG or plasma rifel is good tho but SMG & plasma rifle is better
