Hi,

My friend has a Gigabyte P35-DS3P and is having problems with his audio. The S/PDIF settings in his audio properties is completely greyed out, also when he loads Audacity the drop down box which should let him select S/PDIF or line-in etc (like in the epic below) is greyed out as well.

He is also having problems getting teamspeak to work, you can't hear him and there is a ton of feedback for some reason. He has the latest chipset drivers, latest BIOS, latest audio drivers which were installed after running a driver cleaner. There seem to be a few other posts online with the problem including in the official thread on these forums but nobody has a fix. I posted in there last week but haven't gotten a reply (link below) so hopefully this thread might catch the attention of other people with a similar problem and someone out there knows a solution. thanks

Anybody? It seems like quite a significant problem but there are very few posts about it online. Are there a batch of these motherboards that are known to have issues with the onboard sound? We've done everything we can think of and the audio still wont work properly. An help is appreciated.

ok I'm bumping this again in the hope that someone can help. The problem still happens despite upgrading drivers etc. It's not just inconvenient but really annoying as my friend records a lot of music using his computer and uses the S/PDIF function in audacity for some of his work. Also, apps like teamspeak etc just don't work as he can't get any mic to run
