Hello,

My brother just got his new computer, and I'm having a hard time believing the lack of speed. First it took forever to install Win2K and I couldn't seem to get DMA running. I *may* have got that fixed... Now, games suck ass. Power strip won't let me go higher than 266/222 which is ridiculous... The card is supposed to be at 334 memory. No wonder the games are so slow!

What can I do? Any suggestions...

I hear of people running their memory at 375MHz.

Obviously I'm getting bad performance due to slow memory but why's it going slow? Grrrr, this is getting to me. :(

I presume your using an MX400 with DDR SDRAM rather then SDR SDRAM then?
There is no way in hell you'd get an MX400 with SDRAM up to 334MHz, even 222MHz would be a good overclock for the vast majority of MX400's that use SDR SDRAM.
If it is indeed using DDR SDRAM then the RAM would be running severely underclocked at 111MHz/ 222MHz DDR, and that could well account for the sub-par performance.

Why not download a program like NVMax, or the GeForce Tweak Utility (GTU) that will give you significantly more headroom to overclock.

This is of course presuming you are using one of the very few MX cards with DDR SDRAM, if your not then the RAM is evidently not the problem.
One thing to remember, due to the decreased 64bit memory bus on the MX400's w/DDR SDRAM performance will actually be slightly lower then the normal MX400's with SDR SDRAM on a 128bit memory bus.

Have you made sure you've installed the appropriate motherboard drivers?
What revision of the nVidia Detonator drivers are you using?
