Help with getting into bios settings.

Hi all,
My friend has a Pentium 100 pc and can get into the bios by pressing the delete key before windows starts. However it won't let him access most of the selections in the bios. It will scroll up and down over 4 of the 8 or 9 selections but no more.
Any ideas?
Thx
Gary

depending on the motherboard, there should be a 3 pin with a jumper on two of the pin. this is normally close to m/b battery. Normally the jumper is on pin 1-2. Move the jumper to 2-3 for 10-15 sec. then move it back to pin 1-2. this will reset the cmos and hopefully clear your problem. I should add that power has to be off when you do this.
