Hi all,
I am upgrading (finally!) from a ASUS 3400 TNT 1. I have a P3 866, 256megs of 133 RAM, running Windows 2000 professional and have been out of the video card market for some time. I don't want to shell out the $300+ for a geforce 3, but want to get a good video card for about $100 - $150. I hear good things about the geforce2, pro, ultra, mx, etc. but I am not sure what is best for me. I basically write code and play games like counter-strike, rainbow six, and want to play Max Payne. I am not interested in over clocking, or tweaking (I don't have a use for 170 fps, I can't tell the difference!) I just want a good solid card that will play games well for the next year or so, that also has s-video out (I like to watch DIVX movies on my TV.) I certainly want stablity over crazy fill rate/tweaking/oc. Any advice for me? Thanks in advance for helping an old dog!
