But its archived and I don't see a reply option. This is a followup.

Anyway, i'de like to replace the fan but i'm not sure about how to do it. Someone else suggested a 40x10mm fan, but I am not sure how to go about doing the replacement.

Here's some new pictures of the fan on my card. There are two black mounting pins on the sides of the heatsink that go through holes in the card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Get these instead:

ARCTIC COOLING VGA SILENCER REV. 3

It's currently on sale for under ten bucks. It beats any other heatsink/fan out there plus it's quiet. If you click on the link, it will give you links to review on how it perform, mounted and stuff.

I have a Sparkle Geforce 3 Ti 200 myself that I just found out who made them tonight! I'm planning to buy that cooler probably this week. So, if I beat you to it, I will tell you how it worked. Otherwise, it should be easy. I think you should be an expert after this.

great fan. it seems to be even better fro geforce3 cards though becuase of your card length, the exhausto n the fan matches up basically perfectly with the exhaust vent i think. my 9800pro has about a 1 cm space. Not the easiest to instaill on a geforce3 but a great cooler.

i use that fan with my GF3. the fan power connector was different (mine was 3 pin RPM monitor version) so i had to solder the old plug on, other than that i had no installation problems.
