Hopefully the 7970 can be returned. I think the SSD along with the 7950 is a great solution. 7970 is nice but you are significantly overpaying.

830s are getting harder and harder to find. Go with a Crucial M4 or a 330 if you can find them. SSDs seem to still have growing pains for new releases.

@lehtv: Both of your links are sending me to Amazon for the M4 (it's not a big deal, since I'm not the one actually buying). I'm also seeing the Plextor M5S for $105 and the Kingston SSDNow V+ for $90. Plextor should be pretty reliable, if not the absolute fastest drive. I have no idea about the Kingston, but I suspect it is slower and of lower quality than the Plextor.

i wasnt able to return the 7970, it shipped really fast, so the ssd is on hold for now
besides, 3 seconds later the $300 gigabyte 7950 sold out from amazon and was just available from other sellers at like $361 which would have saved me like $50 (i bought the 7970 at $411 including taxes) not enough for any ssd anyways
hopefully (if i find out how) ill get that tax money back, since im not from the usa

thanks a lot guys ill get that ssd later
