I'm having a very annoying issue with my system; here's the details:

Gigabyte P35 DS3R
Intel Core 2 Duo E6320
2 GB Crucial Ballistix
EVGA 8800 GTS

XCLIO Goodpower 500W (original)
Antec Earthwatts 500W (new)

Problem is that when turning the computer on, I'm getting 3 quick beeps and then it resets. After reset, it does the same thing, and then resets again. After the 2nd reset, it tries to boot, and again, 3 quick beeps and then shutdown. So it's pretty much I get 3 beeps and then it craps out, and after the 3rd restart, it just doesn't even try again.

Not sure what's going on here; the motnherboard manual says that continuous quick beeps means there's a power problem. I put in a different PSU that I had laying around (brand new Antec Earthwatts 500W); but there's no difference.

I've also tried rebuilding the entire system from scratch to make sure that everything is seated correctly, and that didn't solve it.

The system was working just fine this morning. Then I came back a short time later, and this problem started.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
RShick

did you plug in the secondary P4 4-pin power connector at the top of the mobo? I have that same motherboard, requires 20+4pin + 4pin power connectors.

Yes, I did make sure all the connections were correct, including the 4 pin power connection by the processor.

quick update...

Aparently, one of my ram modules is bad. Booting with just one stick, I no longer get the continuous beeping before the reset. Now I don't get any beeps and it's not booting to anything either.

All the fans are on, I can hear the hard drive chattering, and the vid card fan spins up. Just no single beep for post, and nothing is being rendered on the monitor.... any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any help you all could offer me!

I had nearly the exact same experience with a gigabyte p35-d3sl and a pair of geil sticks; I even went out and bought another board! Turns out the RAM was fine, but it required 2.3 volts to run ergo there was not enough voltage on the stock board settings to boot with it.

I put a different set of sticks in and it booted right up. I put the geil set in as a second pair and they work fine, but to this day they will not work in the first position.
