Ok I have a strange problem for you.

Whenever I quit out of a game my monitor shows these really screwed up squigly lines that will not go away until I reboot. I have tried chsanging the refresh rate/color depth/resolution but every time it comes out worse than before. The only games that it does not do this on are Glide games so I am thinking its a DirectX problem. I am using DirectX 7.0a on a WinBlowsMe system. Look below to see my hardware :0)....sorry I had to do that. anyways if anyone can help......THANK YOU in advance.

Try Win98SE.....I hate WinME :)

Sorry, that wasn't too helpful was it.

Try using different drivers, perhaps reinstalling DX7 or installing DX8......have you ran DX Diagnostic to see if all the tests run OK?

Is it only when you exit a game? Have you degaussed your monitor lately?

Probably grasping at straws here but its "one of those problems".

Well I have already tried reinstalling DirectX and my monitor is not the problem. Im very stumped on this one. I am certain it has something to do with direct x. I have recently reverted back to dx7.0a from dx8 due to better frame rates with my voodoo5. I think maybe it has something to do with that but of coarse im not sure:0) Well thanks for your thoughts I will keep trying and let ya know what I come up with. If anyone else has any ideas that nfeel free to let me know :0)

Did you have a different graphics card previously to the Voodoo5? If so, did you reinstall Windows or just straight upgrade the card/drivers?

The reason I ask is because sometimes the presence of the previous card is not completely removed and can cause all kinds of weird and wonderful conflicts.

You may of course have a faulty card too. Have you had it long?

I have had the card since the voodoo5 came out and it has been in my system since. I think the card is ok because it runs very well in every game I play. The problems started only a few days ago. I think I will try reinstalling direct x AGAIN! and then maybe I will reinstall the voodoo5 drivers.
