I want to forward my 3389 port so that I can remote desktop to my computer. For the IP address, do I use my actual IP, router IP, default gateway, or what?

router IP

I would change the port on the router, so that it is something like this: Port 33899 (instead of 3389) forward to 192.168.X.X:3389. Then from the outside, you go into mstsc and type ip.of.router.wanport:33899

the 33899 just keeps it from people scanning port 3389 for open boxes. i change nearly all my ports, even if it's only in the port forwarding that it's changed.

Are you making a remote connection from your network or from the internet to your network? If it's from outside your network you'll need to forward RDP traffic to the computer on your network that is the remote desktop web administrator, and you can choose whatever port you like. Just make sure the router and web server know which port the traffic will be coming thru
