help with formatting on a laptop...

Ok i have a quantex p3 500mhz 128mb ram laptop with just a dvd drive, so no floppy. current windows is corrupt so how do i go about formating the drive so i can install windows ME fresh? there no floppy drive to boot a win98/me disk, i have a external floppy drive usb type but the laptop wont recognize it problaby cause theres no usb floopy support within the bios. thax.....
 
try booting the PC with bootable utility disk using your DVD-ROM. Then find a network and transfer your needed files to another computer on the network. After that format the PC and bring the data back from the network.
