food plays a big part and undiagnosed allergies or malnutrition are issues, it's just that calling it the root of medicine makes it seem like it's all there is, and the step from there to claiming to be able to cure cancer with diet like one australian girl I remember reading about is doing (she made a whole business out of it and killed her mother who also got cancer in the process) isn't that far anymore.

Well I checked in with my doctor and he ordered some blood work to be done, several tests. I tried gluten free for a week but it didn't do much for my energy level. I also am a very light sleeper and may not be getting meaningful, restful sleep so I may explore that Avenue as well if the blood tests turn up nothing.

Also @ Carson Dyle this is an ongoing issue I have struggled with for years and have had many tests done and seen specialists for buy have not been able to reach any conclusion for my fatigue.

Undiagnosed fatigue is the worst man. If sleep is a major issue, I'd get checked out for sleep apnea next. Allergy tests are also helpful, at least for ruling things out. I wish you the best of luck, we're designed to feel good, not drag!

Yeah, I don't really know why people get hung up on that kind of stuff. I mean, 100 years ago we didn't have much in the way of the modern preservatives, and people were still dying left & right. Medicine was invented to solve specific problems. I know a lot of people who owe their lives to stuff like chemo & other therapies.

Thanks for the support. I've had a sleep study done in the past and apnea has been ruled out. Since then I have had multiple docs interpret the results. Some say my sleep quality is OK, others say it is subpar. Over the last couple of years I've been on the sleep meds carousel to no avail. That's why I was thinking maybe it was a food allergy or gluten sensitivity. Hoping that when my blood tests come back, something will pop up that hasn't in the past. Just got to keep on trying different things.

For me it was specifically a gluten allergy, although I have a lot of other food allergies. Like with corn, I would get really bad acid reflux & wouldn't be able to lie down to go to bed because of that (Tums are basically made from corn as well, so they'd just make it worse, haha). So if sleep apnea has been ruled out, maybe do a full allergy panel, and like you said, a more detailed physical. I did so many random things to figure out my issues...blood tests, allergy tests, endoscopies, lyme diseases tests, tests for lacking in vitamins, anything I could try really. It was expensive, but ultimately it paid off because I fortunately had something manageable. It's a pain, but it's also nice to feel good all the time, so keep chipping away at it!
