Help with Folding

Senior member
Hi everyone..

I just installed the Folding@home GUI and sucessfully did my first packet.. Now I can't recieve or send them. 🙁 I use Adsl, on WinXp pro, Norton Personal Firewall. I turned Norton off, and closed restarted from the start menu, with the same error. Does Folding work on random if it can't connect? Can I submit it through email in worst case?

I apologize if this is the wrong forum. Thanks for your help

My only thought is that their server is down or something. It happens every once in a while - I believe it'll keep trying every hour? or so until it pulls the next unit.

If I am wrong then I'm sure someone will stop by and give you the straight scoop😉

I have just about as much experience with F@h as you so I can't really tell if that's a common occurrence, but on my last WU transaction (and only one so far) it took quite a few attempts before finally getting through. The problem is probably caused by the F@h server, all you can do is just to be patient and wait.

Does Folding work on random if it can't connect?
The F@h client only downloads and works on one WU at a time (you can't store store more units on your computer) so it will remain idle until it gets a new one.
