Help with First Boot Up...It Won't run!

I got it all together, and it won't boot...
Fans and lights run...
Hard Drive make a little noise...
One very soft beep
Screen says Check cable signal...and nothing else...
Never posts...
I have aken it all apart to the basics again, even the cpu again...
No jumpers to adjust bios that I can find...
Anyone have a hint?
Near $3000.00 for all this pretty wire...HEHE

a few things to try/check that may help up help you.

first, make sure you do not have any extra motherboard mounting studs in the case (i.e. studs that are not lined up with a mounting hole). One extra one of these can short a couple traces together on the back of the board.

next, clear the CMOS.

Try booting it up with no drives hooked up. You should be able to boot far enough to get into the BIOS with only the Board, CPU, RAM, and video card. If you can get in, add one drive at a time (floppy, HD, CD-ROM, etc...).

Does that board have the serial ATA controller? Is there a jumper to enable/disable it?

if those do not do it, remove the RAM & Video card (one at a time) & boot up. Does it give you any beep codes that these are not there?
