I think I have a relatively easy question about wireless networking. I'm not new to computer but new setting up a wireless network. I've actually got it set up, but I want to know how to transfer files between the computers and share printers over the network.
I have a wireless Linksys WRT54G router and on my sons computer, he's got a Linksys wireless USB adapter. They are using 802.11 G with WAP Personal encryption.
Now as I said before, the network is set up so he can use the Net and we can play LAN games but that's about it. I tried to sharing files but I can't seem to get it to work. I would be most appreciative if someone could help me out here.
I also have one more question. My son is 7 and I only want him to have access to certain sites. On my router setup, I see how you can block access but I want to block the whole Net basically and then only add certain sites he can go to. Does anyone have this router and if so can I do this? If not, can anyone recommend any parental software that works well with Net connections. I don't want to have stand over his shoulder the entire time when he's on the computer. I know at some point he'll be able to figure out a way around this, but for the next few years he won't...he's just getting into computers and knows virtually nothing. I'd prefer the router route (no pun intended) but I'll take the parental software as well.
Thanx in advance,
Sithtiger
