help with file/printer sharing

ok, i want to share a printer/files between two computers, one computer is running win98, the other is running win2k, my setup is;
shaw@home network, 2 ips
cable modem hooked up to hub, computers hooked up to hub

as i said, i want to share a printer and files between the 2 comps, i read the faq and that setup didn't work, can anyone help me?
