Are some older mobos not compatible with the new larger HD's?

While my new rig I am building is under construction I wanted to put my WD 120gig in my 500mhz k6-2 setup but it will not boot up with the WD 120gig in it as slave. I've tried all kinds of settings in the bios that I thought might help but it just never boots. It recognizes the WD 120 at first when booting but later on it gets hungup. Any help would be appreciated!

Start by flashing the bios to the newest version. What bios is currently on the mobo?

No, a whole LOT of older mobos are not compatible with the new larger HD's. The PAG-2130 is an obsolete SUPER 7 motherboard for crying out loud, how big of a HDD do you think its going to support? Many BRAND NEW motherboards do not yet support 120GB HDD.

You'd be lucky to get a 80GB HDD to work natively on that dinosaur without an overlay utility.
