help with fan placement

I'd enable SMART on the hard drives, get motherboard monitor or Speedfan to monitor the temps reported there and in the CPU, NB and whatever else shares that info. Then, I'd put the fan in all the different configurations and see which one gets temps the lowest.

There are so many variables about each setup it would be tough to know what's right without testing.

i havent done that but i have moved the hd drive bay right infront of the gfx card so the fan was blowing right on it and there was no change in temp.

Good advice from regpfj. Also be sure you're testing temps with the case closed.

If temps aren't that different when moving the fans around, go for the setup that's the most quiet as judged from outside the case.
