I just got an external CDRW made by sony. It is Firewire. What I need to know is can firewire be loaded into DOS. What I am trying to do is burn an image (norotn Ghost 2001) of a laptop to a disc (image) to ghost it to another laptop. I'm not sure if firewire can be loaded in DOS. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You don't say which image program you are using. If it is Powerquests Drive Image, it does not support USB or Firewire CDR-W's. I don't know about others such as Norton Ghost, etc.

You probably should create the ghost image of your laptop, then burn the norton image onto your cdrw using windows, but thats if you have enough room on your laptop hd. Ghost doesn't support fire wire.
