Hi all,
Don't know if anyone can help, but here goes:

I have an Epson 1270 photo printer and it seems that when I print a page I am getting black ink smudges on the paper, only on the right side of the page. It seems that the cotton like material that is used for cleaning the ink jets is full of ink. Can I remove this and clean it?
I need my printer this weekend and have no extra money for a new one.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have an epson 870 (same except for the paper width) and sometimes have this problem. Put the printer into ink change mode so the head is out of the way. Use tissue to clean the rollers on the right hand side. Use tissue to soak up surplus ink in the sponge on the right (head cleaner).

I also print a few pages with a single character to make sure the rollers and paper path are totally clean.

You will end up with multicoloured hands but the printer will be ok afterwards !

I think this problem is simple ink overflow from the sponge.

Good Luck
