in short : duron700, msi k7t turbo (via kt133a), gf 2mx, win2k

i bought a scanner saturday : epson 1250 photo (scan negs/positives) and i've been trynig to make it work since then.

I never really tested usb before.
So i tried about everything i read at usbman.com :
biossettings, via 433 drivers, win2k sp2, usbfilter, standard PC instead of ACPI and assigning an irq to usb (which does not work).

The scanner is recognized, the driver installs, but trying to launch any of the programs results in a 1-2 minute wait and an error "the scanner failed to initialize".

I would like to try to give an irq in the bios to usb but it's shared with the geforce.

So should i kill this scanner ? Or bring it back ?
Anybody have success with espon usb scanners ?

Thx

My HP 4300C basically refused to work on my old comp (BE6, 550mhz). I tried everything like you did. Didn't work in 98 either. Well it did scan once or twice then the scanning prog would perform illegal op and it'd be a bitch to start working again and I'd get failed to init most of the time.

I tried different drivers and the ones off the cd I could get working 5% of the time and I don't think the newest ones worked. But then I build this new comp and it works fine with the newest drivers.

Sorry I don't have much help but just thought I'd share that.
