I have had my epox MB and amd xp 1600+ for about a year now. It has worked fine until today i turn it on, and i get nothing except a constant beeping noise.

The only hardware change I have made recently is adding a firewire card 5 days ago but it was working fine.

I did take it out but still no go.

The LED says C1 or CI but i don't know what that means. The manual doesn't help.

I am in the process of removing each card one by one. I also will remove the sinle Crucial 256MB PC2100

Help! Anyone?

If it won't even POST, try taking the motherboard out of the case and running it that way, with nothing but the RAM and video card. No drives, etc. That removes some variables. Do you have another compatible system you can test the memory in? Also, what make/model of power supply have you been using... maybe it was chronically overloaded and kicked the bucket?

Almost sounds like bad memory. I have the same set-up. Maybe tonite i'll pull-out my single stick of ram and see what I get.

I just pulled my ram out of my 8KHA+ and tried to start it. The fans spin, there is no video, I get a C1 error, and the intermittant long beep. Try another ram slot, but i'd say it's your ram. Lifetime warranty on Crucial.

things are looking bad:

tried new vid card rad 7500

new memory centron

unplugged all cards and drives and still no go.

i am left with cpu and MB (no!!!!) unless anybody has a suggestion

guess it could be power supply but everything seems to be fired up and spinning but may not be enough juice.

could it be that centron is incompatible? anyone with centron and 8kha+

:(

Maybe go back and trade in the RAM towards an Antec TruePower430 PSU?

I am starting to think ahead; if my MB is dead and i need to replace what are the current recommendations? I would like a rock stable mb with a good reputation. Not into OC. Good feature set would be nice, lots of fr and rear usb for under 100?

Can I use my PC2100 memory in a PC333 board?

Cool a double post 5 days apart!;)

For $75 you could get a A7V266E from newegg.com, I have this board in my son's computer, it's quick and stable.
