A friend of mine recently got a new computer and when she types an email she uses the fancy fonts, but when it gets to
me, it changes to plain type. She has Netscape and I'm on the Explorer. One of the fonts, we both have in our arsenal
but the other I did not have. Do you know why I can't receive her fancy fonts and her other friends don't either.
Now I once had Netscape and didn't have that problem so we're stumped for the answer.

Any ideas on why and how to remedy this..thanks in advance guys...t

The reason you're experiencing these problems (on a high level) is because there is no standard for fonts in e-mail. Electronic mail is only intended to be used with plain text. E-mail clients that support bold/fonts/whatever are using proprietary extensions (or HTML), and obviously everyone won't use the same methods of implementation due to lack of standards.

Proprietary extensions == evil. One of the many reasons I loathe Microsoft. My advice: stick to plain text.
