Help with ELSA Erazor X! Green artifacts

Hi, a friend sold me his old ELSA Erazor X card (a GeForce 256 SDR with a heatsink/fan) when he bought a new Radeon DDR VIVO. The thing is, in Counter-Strike (about the only game I play), I get these very strange green artifacts; they look like little spheres and look as if they're flying by the screen. I'm baffled; I've read the GeForce FAQ, read numerous Deja posts - I'm exhausted trying to figure it out. I've changed drivers from the 12.x series to the new Detonator XP, set my moboard BIOS according to the FAQ, tried different resolutions, to no resolve. My friend flashed the board's BIOS with an Nvidia one, so I tried the newest Nvidia BIOS with that VGABIOS program, and still no hope. Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!! Thanks!!!

My system:
256 megs SDRAM
2 Maxtor HDDs (7 & 8.4 gig)
Sony CRX100E
Teac 6x CD drive
Abit BX-6 Rev.2
Celeron 400
SB PCI 64
Advansys UW SCSI card
D-Link ethernet adapter
