help with dvi hookup

trying to mate geforce2 card with gateway 2185w.
card has dvi output/vga.
have tried all combos and tuned display settings.
can't get dvi to flow to lcd.
system goes blank and i need to perform a restore to get video back.
help

As discussed in many threads already, older NVidia chips tend to have disappointingly low limits on the resolution they can provide over DVI. This is due to a signal quality issue straight from the NVidia chips.
