so I bought a Samsung 930B today and it doesnt come with a DVI cable so I went to a local store and bought one, when I went home I notice that the DVI cable wont go into my LCDs port, in the picture below you see on the left side where you see the flat input, then the 2 on top and two on the bottom, my LCDs input does not have those 4 holes for those 4 pins on the cable, but my X800XL does have those, could I just bend those 4 pins away and use the monitor like that?

you bought a dvi-i cable, the monitor has a dvi-d slot.

i really wish all devices had the accomodations for dvi-i, but would only accept the right signal, as in, dummy holes. that would save us a ton on cables. i made the same mistake once and i could not return it. take note removing the extra pins for some reason does not work...
