Hi,
I have a DVD-RW (Cendyne, Pioneer 105) in a generic external case. Unfortunately, I can't get the drive to read any DVDs or CDs (burned or regular), but I CAN burn DVDs (and right after I burn them, the drive can't read them). I thoguht it was a problem with the drive, so I returned it for a new one, but the same problem arose. My external case uses an Oxford chipset (IEEE 1394 SBP2 Device). Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks!!!

Get the latest drivers directly from the chipset maker's web site - www.oxsemi.com .
You will need to know your chipset number. See if that helps.

What media? If it's crappy media, it doesn't matter what drivers or drive you're using. If you're using cheap generics or 1X Princo's or whatever, then try using some Mitsui or Apple media first.
