Help with duplicate emails

Hi-

Here's the issue:

I don't have much information right now, but it's my aunts' computer. She say's all of a sudden that she started getting the same email 2 or 3 times. It's not all the emails, just some of them. She hasn't done anything out of the ordinary, she just checks her email and writes word documents. That's all the information I have right now, but I will be going over there later and will be able to give more information.

Does anybody have any ideas of whats going on? or where i can start dinking around when i go over there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as always. 🙂

I have seen this before several times. I'm not sure what the exact cause is, although I wish I knew.

She should be able to access her email through the web. Either through her ISP's website or at http://www.mail2web.com/.

Take a close look at all the emails in her Inbox. One or more of these is infected with a virus, or for whatever reason, is not being allowed through by her email or anti-virus software ( I wish I knew which one).

Delete any suspicous emails, or out and out spam.

She should then be back to normal.

Her email software gets to these "bad" emails and quits. The emails never get deleted from the server and they keep coming in time and time again.

This is the best explanation I can give. Don't know all the technical details of the process.

Hope this fixes it.

I think Boomerrang is correct. Clearing the webmail out is the first thing we do when we have people with repetitive messages.
