Help with downloading RC5 blocks?

Hi guys,

Trying to download enough blocks to last the weekend into a small lan setup. I have about six computers running a shared dnetc client. The program won't download more than 3600 rc5 blocks at a time. I ran out of blocks over the weekend and it started doing random's. It's set to download 7000, but it comes up and says buffer full or projects closed.

Any help would be much appreciated!

OK, I'm assuming your lead PC can't or won't connect to the internet to update itself. If that is true, you can load it up using the program called Sneaky. I'll look for a link, but it is mentioned frequently here because our very own Polo wrote it.

I also will use the "-import" command to merge input buffers to give large quantities. It is pretty easy. Tell your client to update buffers. It will pull in the maximum amount. Then shutdown the client, rename the buff-in.rc5 file to something like "a_buff-in.rc5" Restart the client. It should automatically refill its buffers. Shutdown. Rename the "buff-in.rc5" to "b_buff-in.rc5" Repeat as needed.

Finally, and I usually do this in a command prompt window, I will run "Dnetc -import a_buff-in.rc5" then "Dnetc -import b_buff-in.rc5" etc. The client will merge all the buffers into one. This is what Sneaky does, only manually.

I am not sure if this is a software which allows for this, but I know that there is a software that does something to do with RC5... I think its called Sneeky or Sneaky?! Russ will know. But I think it may allow you to increase the number of blocks you can store at any one go.

Albert.

EDIT: DOH got beat to it 🙁 But I think I got the info right... 😛

Good luck 🙂
