Help with DHCP and Pproxy

Ok I could use some advice or help. @ home just switched me this morning and now my IP has changed. First can someone that has already had this happen tell me how often their Ip changes. What I have is a pproxy with my second machine pointed at this one as well as a few others spread around town pointed to my old assigned IP. So now what should I do ?

You could get a hostname from www.dyndns.org, like cpars.dyndns.org for example. It's a free service. You'd just point all your machines to your hostname and they'd route the traffic to the ip address you have on file with them. When you ip address changes again, you just update it at dyndns and you'd be all set. You'd still have to get to all your machines to put in the hostname though.

Thanks Nohr I will look into that. Why can't they just leave stuff alone:|

well i guess it's about time to get ICS going and quit paying for that second IP they are charging me for huh:Q

You should be able to use your @Home host name as it doesn't change.

It should be something like this. c111111-a.ankeny1.ia.home.com

Try that out and see if it works for you and let us know. I will have the same problem soon, but I'm still static.

Beware because they did it this morning with no other notification than those annoying form letters they been sending that says they will call ya first (they never called). I also got Russ to combine my 2 different Ip's I used to have that I was paying for, maybe it will still all make sense to Russ as long as I can keep up with the right IP for my pproxy. How many folks here are using ICS and hows it working for you?

5661 blocks a no show. If you read this Russ could ya give me a hand these blocks went in under 65.8.140.20.

Thank you kind sir, your a gentleman and a scholar. Now i'm going to take out some frustration In some UT assault before the wife gets back😉

I'll never catch illkid with my blocks all over the place lol
