Help with Dell laptop

I've got a strange problem with my Latitude. When I'm typing in a word processor or email client or browser, or whatever, suddenly the cursor will jump up to much higher on the screen. Other times, it will select a large chunk of text as though highlighting it, and since I type fast, it's deleted by my typing. The ctrl-z option always saves my butt.

Dell suggested a replacement keyboard but that did nothing. Any ideas?

My friend had a similar problem with his Dell. It was actually the trackpad at fault. I don't remember the problem exactly, but the trackpad was disengaged from the keyboard and floated around at random.

You should have your trackpad/keyboard connections checked out.

I agree.. Also, if you lappy allows you to disaple the touchpad (my HP does) give it a try, and see if problem reoccures.
