I have a PCB 1.04 A7N8X Deluxe with a newly flashed 1006 BIOS, and was wondering if it actually supports the 400 FSB.

On this page
http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/socketa/a7n8x-d/overview.htm
it says the 400 FSB isn't supported till PCB 2.0

However, here
http://www.asus.com.tw/support/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx
it shows it supporting a 3200+ XP with 400 MHz FSB.

I have a 2500+ barton that I have gotten to a 380 FSB, but I can't seem to get it any further. I'm not sure if it's the motherboard or the proccessor (hard to believe because it idles around 34 C), and was wondering if I got like a 3000+ or 3200+ with 400 FSB, would it actually run at a 400 FSB??? Thanks for your input.

BTW, I'm sorry if you can't click on the links, I'm not sure if I have to do something special to make them clickable or not.....

I had my 2500+ running at 200 FSB on my A7N8X Deluxe 1.04 board. Have you tried upping the vcore or is this on stock voltage? Have you tried lowering the multiplier and seeing how high the bus speed will go (assuming you have an unlocked CPU)? Getting up to 2.1GHz isn't a bad overclock, so I wouldn't bother spending the cash for a 3000+ or 3200+.

My Vcore is between 1.665 and 1.68 according to cpu-z ( too busy downloading to boot into BIOS). My CPU is one of the new locked ones, so I can't change the multi :( I have OCZ PC3200, so I know the rams not limiting it. I actually had to take the ram out of dual channel and into single channel to get the 190 FSB. Otherwise, it would top around 185. I was hoping to get a higher overclock, since my Aero 7+ keeps the CPU pretty cool..... I appreciate any input anyone has on this :)

What is your memory voltage right now? Try 2.7-2.8 volts if you're not in that range yet. For the heck of it, lock the AGP frequency to 66MHz to make sure, too.
