I was asked to setup a wireless printer at work, because we are a small company and don't really have an IT guy. I'm just the young guy who knows all about this stuff... :whiste:
I can get the printer to connect to wireless devices, so pretty much anything connected to the wireless router. However, my computer is wired and connected to a gigabit switch. The router is also connected to the switch. So I'm guessing one of the cables going into the switch is from the modem (wherever it is), then the router is connected to it.
I can't seem to see the printer while trying to install, and I cannot connect to the router using 192.168.0.1. I could connect with the laptop I tried it on, so somehow I cannot speak to the router. Can I get any help on this? Do I need to rearrange how everything is hooked up, or what? Should I have the modem run to the router, and then the router to the switch?
Thanks for any help, as you can tell I'm not very familiar with networking...
