Lately ( the last 8-10 days) occasionally when i play a 3d game my computer would run fine sometimes but then sometimes it would randomly turn my screen to bright white starting with my cursor. I can see a square white block appear where the cursor is then the whole screen would turn white and start flashing like a pokemon movie.
I run that directx diagnostic utility and it passes that no problem. I can also run 3d mark 2001, looping, for hours with no problem.
I have a geforce 4 4200 with windows XP and for like 6 months they ran fine. This problem doesnt occur when i do stuff in 2d in window mode, only in 3d, especially when theres a cursor on screen.
I changed my mouse from ps2 mode to USB then back multiple times and still have that same problem.
I have the newest detonator driver (was hoping the newer driver would fix it, I was using 29.xx version)
I suspect that I probably installed some crap or did something that some how affect my mouse but I cant think of anything since I'm extremely careful about doing things like that.
Please let me hear any suggestion you guys might have. Thanks in advance.
