Last February I purchased the following from Rodamus,,,,,,,em 1:
MSI K8T FIS2R Socket 754- SOLD to Coadman
Comes with everything in a retail box EXCEPT for the SATA power connector. Been running this for 5 months with ZERO problems. Very stable board with lots of features.
MSI Link: MSI K8T FIS2R

Item 2:
AMD 64 3000+ NC Socket 754- SOLD to Coadman
This is the retail version that I bought back in September so it has about 2.5 years left on the warranty. Overclocked this from 2.0Ghz to 2.2 Ghz on the K8T mobo above. Comes with HSF.
Newegg Link: AMD 64 3000+ NC

Item 3:
Buffalo 512 MB PC3200 DDR - SOLD to Coadman
Bought this memory about a year ago and it has a lifetime warranty via Buffalo Tech. It is DD4002-512/WC with CH5 chips on them. Only ran them at 200, 2.5-3-3-8, and default voltage.
Buffalo Link: Buffalo DDR

Me and my youngest son, have just "now" gotten around to trying to put this together. I had bought a case from BB about the same time, along with a harddrive, dvd burner etc. Anyway, we installed everything yesterday, without any real problems, as we just looked at the schematics in the book. Here is my problem,,,,,booted the computer up, and loaded Win XP,,,,better back up a bit,,prior to that I received message, no BIOS installed.
I went into setup, and clicked on default for Bios, thinking that would load whatever the default was, but apparantly nothing happened. So, I am not really up to snuff on this Bios stuff, so can anybody enlighten me?
Next problem, when my son gets on the internet via wireless network card(I have the wireless router in my office), he can be on the net for a short time, then the computer "freezes" He reboots, and it is ok for awhile then the problem reoccurs. He thought it could be the mouse, but how to check?
ON reading my post, I see Rodamus had included everything except a SATA power connector, where and what is that?
thanks,
coadman

The "no BIOS installed" must be coming another device you've install like maybe a scsi controller? If it was related to the board then you wouldn't/shouldn't have been able to enter cmos as well as you certainly wouldn't have been able to load the OS..... I guess it could be kinda a freak thing like a corrupt bios, if that's the case you may very well fix it by shuting down the box and clearing cmos.....

Yeah, it has an onboard Promise SATA controller. It's normal for a disk controller to post that it has not installed its BIOS when it does not have any hard drives hooked up to it. So don't let the BIOS-not-installed message bug you. You can disable the Promise SATA controller in the motherboard's BIOS if you don't want to see that message.

As for the Internet-browsing problem, what do you have for antivirus software, firewall protection (hardware and/or software), and what Service Pack is the WindowsXP installation at (zero, SP1, or SP2)? Have you tried a wired connection yet?

Hardware-wise, what power supply is towing the boat there (brand and model) and what are the full specs of the whole system, including all drives and cards? The 's in the details sometimes... details, please. :)

Ok, I think you guys have figured out the BIOS problem, being the SATA which I am not using. I havent tried disabling
that yet, but will in the future. Our main problem now, is the constant freezing. We have discovered something that may
help you all to troubleshoot our problem. I am using a D-link Wireless Router on my office computer (Dl-624), and have
a D-Link wireless PCI adapter(DWL-G510) in my sons computer. We physically moved my sons computer, next to my
office computer, and connected the router via an ethernet cable, bypassing the DWL-G510 alltogether. Guess what, no
freezing. I have searched the website for D-Link thinking maybe there was an updated driver of something, but everthing
that was there, I have on my origanal disc. I have uninstalled the Dlink program, and reinstalled it, thinking that might
help, but same problem, constant freezing. Any ideas?
thanks,

I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless adapter drivers according to the provided instructions. This may help.
It may also help to switch the Topic Summary to "computer freezing due to D-link Wireless Router?" or something similar to catch the attention of those familiar with this topic.
