Hi, I have a question about copying a cd. Can I use other programs while I copy a cd? For example: Can I browse Internet, play game or using microsoft word while I am copying a cd? Is it going to affect the quality of the cd?

I am assuming you are using a IDE type burner-so in simple terms...

If while you are burning a disk, the internal buffer memory of the cdrw becomes empty, you will have created a bad disk, a coaster. That can happen if you use the PC and it is doing other tasks while you are burning the disk. Therefore-It is not recommended for IDE burners that do not have the buffer under run protection of some type to use the PC and multitask while burning.

The older burners do not have that a buffer underrun protection build into them. Buffer under run protections allow a certain amount of multi-tasking without a problem. Buffer protection technologies built into the latest burners are called Burn Proof, Just Link, Smart Burn, and a few other new names have been devolped for the newest burners that are being sold.
