I realize that this is a driver exclusive to Windows 10, so not many of you have used it yet. I also know that these drivers are - by definition - kind of buggy and not ready for prime time. Still, the last driver (from 3/16, this one is from 4/1) was not so buggy, at least not that I could tell.
Anyway, on to the problem:
Driver 15.200.1018.1 - and only this driver - is causing problems for my desktop resolution. I am using an old Gateway monitor (model FPD1730) that has 1280x1024 as its max supported resolution. Setting this resolution for the desktop under the latest 15.2 driver causes my desktop to look compressed and hazy, and it no longer conforms to the dimensions of the display. The monitor itself claims to be running in 1024x768 even when the OS is set to use 1280x1024 for the desktop.
Some software runs okay in 1280x1024 fullscreen (Unigine benchmarks), while other stuff (TF2 under Steam) has undesirable behavior. In the case of TF2, I could never get it to start unless I ran it in windowed mode, but once in the game, I could change to fullscreen and it would be fine. Now when I run it 1280x1024 windowed, the window extends off the edges of the area of the screen that the desktop would draw to, and if I switch to fullscreen, it locks up.
edit: I can get TF2 running in 1280x1024 fullscreen. It starts in 1280x1024 windows, so I switch to 1024x768 fullscreen, and then go to 1280x1024 fullscreen from there, and it works. If I alt-tab to desktop and then try to go back to TF2, it still locks up grr
