Here is a quick description of my setup :

Antec 1080 AMG
Antec True 480
Soyo Dragon Platinum
Athlon XP 2400+
Athlon XP Shim
MCX462+ Heatsink
Thermaltake Smart Fans (2)
Mushkin 512MB Hi Perf Level 2
PC2700 DDR 222 (1)
Toshiba DVD 16x SD-M1712
Plextor CD-R 48x
Zip 100
------------------------------
I have one Thermaltake Smart Fan on the Heatsink and another in the front of the case - the (2) rear fans are "stock"...

I am about to add the following right away :

GAINWARD/CARDEXPERT GeForce 4, 8X AGP. Ti 4200,
3.6ns, 128MB DDR, Power Pack Golden Sample

ALSO : Thermaltake BLUE ORB VGA Chip / GPU Fan, heatsink + fan (add to the MotherBoard)

ALSO : Going to do a "RAID" w/WD WESTERN DIGITAL "SPECIAL EDITION" 80GB 7200RPM...8mb (2)
-----------------------------------------------------------------

SO - I was wanting suggestions on adding fans...I have about (6) Thermaltake Smart Fan II's here available to me....I was considering using "all" of them in the setup ?

Any suggestions or comments about the setup would be greatly appreciated ! Which fans would you run from the Power Supply, and which from the MotherBoard, and what "settings" you would use with each of the Smart Fan II configurations (believe they can be set up 3 different ways), etc. Also, just where would you run all the sensors and such ?

The case sits in a desk and has restricted airflow around the case itself ---- The corner of the room doesn't get much a/c flow, so it is a bit warmer than the interior temps of the room which is about 75º right now...I believe I am pretty much in a situation with restricted airflow "around" the case, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Temps from the SOYO software read the following :

SOYO Monitor

THANKS !!!

I don?t think using half a dozen fans would help much if you just circulating warm air. Maybe getting some ventilation in the desk and around the computer would help the most (if possible).

Youre not really adding much more heat, and your temps look more than fine imho.

Those TT smart fans push huge amounts of air. As for the Smart Fan 2's, if you really want to stick them in stick to the manual rheostat, the temp sensor is just crap. Personally I dont know how you can stand the noise of two TT smart fans, I had a smart fan 1, replaced with a smart fan 2 and then chucked that out aswell. I've not that much less heat producing stuff in my machine with the same case chasis, using 2 lownoise intakes slowed by the truepower psu and one medium noise exhaust (which i will be swapping for two very low noise). My temps usually around 42C & 34C but currently 36C & 29C 'cos the windows open and freezing my feet :( (more info than you wanted to know i think).

I was just curious to know if the temps were decent for the setup I had ---- Yep, these Smart Fans can humm it up a bit sometimes...I heard the Smart Fan II's seem to be better?

A friend has a bunch of the (2's) he was going to use for some "System Projects", and said he would install those if I wanted, so it was just a curious option...I didn't really want to get into manual fan control and have to install a controller - not a gamer or anything, so I don't push it too hard right now at this time...

I haven't really researched fan options for this case, or layout design of what to put where, so was just looking to see if anyone had used non-stock fans in this case and how they were setup ?
